Mommy Pouch
Hello Everyone! I hope all is going well for everyone. During this time I even more focused on self and all the things that I want to achieve and become. One of the things I’m focusing on is self love. I’ve talked a lot about the spiritual aspect of self love and also loving your self enough to set boundaries from toxic people. But I want to talk about another form of self love, and that is body positivity.
We mommy’s know what it is like first hand to watch our body’s change during the baking or our babies and after we give birth. So many people shove ideas about what our bodies should like after we give birth. After the birth of my son eight years ago my body literally went back the exact way it started out before my pregnancy. I loved every bit of it. Even after my daughter, my body snapped rather well, this difference you ask? my mommy pouch. 3 years later and it’s still there. Both of my kids caused my butt to get bigger but my daughter caused my hips to spread ( which i’m not upset about) and my mommy pouch to say ” HEY LOOK I’M RIGHT HERE!” I tried to suck it in a lot. I love high waist jeans and skirts with crop tops so I figured that would help to conceal the pouch. As you know I have started doing yoga and that helps a bit but I have learned that it’s OK to embrace the way body is even is transformation because this body that I live in did some incredible work and created two beautiful lives.
I say all that to say this, mommies what you did is remarkable and you shouldn’t concern yourself with how society says your body should look after child birth. There is no time limit on when your body should be back to normal. As long as your happy and healthy that’s all that matters.
