My Shrimp & Grits Recipe

By now you how much I love quick and easy meals. Having a full-time job and a mom keeps me running and leaves me exhausted at times. One Favorite of mine is shrimp and grits. I grew up with my mom making this all the time.

Recipe type: Dinner

Serving size: 3 (adjust to your family size)

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients: Half pound of uncooked Shrimp, Quaker Grits Old Fashioned, Cheese, butter, old bay seasoning, salt, pepper and water

Directions:

  1. Unthaw the shrimp. pour a half of cup of grits in a pot and add water. Turn the stove on medium heat.
  2. Once grits are heating up add butter and continue to stir. Take the tail off of the shrimp and and season with old bay seasoning and salt. Turn stove on medium heat, add butter to skillet and let heat for 2-3 minutes and add shrimp. Cook until Shrimp is pink.
  3. keep adding water and butter while stirring grits. If you prefer add cheese to your grits.
  4. Cook grits until it is at the texture of your desire.
  5. plate and enjoy.
